Postgraduate Representative

Lauren is the Postgraduate Representative for the Law Society. Lauren is the main point of contact between the committee and the Postgraduate students (including DPLP). She also acts as an ambassador for Postgraduate/DPLP studies. Lauren is in constant communication with her year group, through emails, social media, and announcements during lectures.

Lauren is the Postgraduate Representative for the Law Society. This is Lauren’s first time on committee, but was previously an active member attending many Law Society events.

Lauren will effectively listen and collate and communicate the views of her peers. The Postgraduate Representative works along with all the other committee members, communicating the needs for the DPLP/Postgraduate students. Additionally, Lauren will be working to give an insight to her position as a DPLP student to 4th years that are looking to progress their career in law by attaining their certificate of practice.

Lauren’s goals this academic year is to ensure that there is effective communication between her year group and the committee through advertising any events the Law Society are hosting whether it be social or potentially insights/networking. Additionally, another goal is to ensure that postgraduates members can meet their peers and improve their employability in through informing them of the latest events and workshops. Above all she aims to make the next academic year a good experience for the Postgraduate Students and have events that are fitting for students in her postgraduate studies.

Lauren is particularly interested in Private Client work such as successions and trust and Family Law. She also has an interest in Employment law and Legal tech. Although upon seeking a traineeship Lauren is open to trying a variety areas of law.

LAUREN IRWIN
