George Hilton-Rhind

George is the Secretary of the Law Society. He supports the President in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Committee. George is responsible for ensuring meetings are effectively organised and minuted and for maintaining effective records and administration. George is also responsible for organising events with the Careers Service, the Law School and other law societies across Scotland.

This year, George wishes to make members more identifiable and make sure members are receiving all the benefits that the membership has to offer. George will create merchandise, discount fobs, etc. which will be all advertised on the website.

George has a keen interest in succession and trusts law, property law and criminal law.

When asked about the Law Society, he said: “I originally joined the committee in 1st year as I believe that societies play such a valuable role in university life, helping to provide social and informative events for all the members and I wanted to play my part to help make these events happen. I especially enjoy the real variety of events that the society plans for its members each year, from careers events to varsity sports competitions, the law society really has something to offer to all students and that is what makes the Law Society such a great thing to be a part of.”

Because we also exist to make sure years at University are memorable, we shall mention our committee members favourite drink(s). If you are looking for George after a long day of University, he is probably enjoying a Guinness at the Bobbin!
