Rahma works alongside the President to oversee the Society’s work and to ensure the other committee members are acting efficiently in their roles, providing support and optimising relationships between students. Rahma is crucial to the internal operations of the Law Society and regularly steps in when the President is unavailable.

Rahma’s vision this year is to ensure all student members feel the benefit of being an AULS member. She strives to fulfil this by helping the AULS committee members to achieve their goals and meet the needs of the students. She is dedicated to helping students with anything, from gaining legal experience to help with career prospects or simply ensuring students have a fun university experience by attending our socials, like the annual university law ball which does not disappoint!

Previously, Rahma was the external social secretary for the Law Society, she was responsible for building and maintaining relationships with external organisations, societies and universities. Under this role, Rahma successfully secured and worked alongside multiple sponsor firms to arrange sponsorship and career events to benefit AULS student members. Moreover, Rahma is passionate about diversity and inclusion within the legal profession and she launched and hosted the annual D&I event last year. Further, Rahma lead AULS collaborations with the other Scottish university law societies to facilitate the annual varsity sports weekend in Dundee.

Rahma has an interest in all aspects of commercial law. This can be demonstrated by Rahma’s choice of honours courses as she has enjoyed studying commercial property law and corporate finance law this academic year. Furthermore, Rahma is excited to start writing her dissertation where she will discuss intellectual property law and its place in the UK fashion industry.

Rahma is looking forward to enjoying the last year of her undergraduate LLB and graduating this upcoming summer. In the future, Rahma wishes to continue her studies by completing her DPLP and starting her traineeship with Brodies LLP commencing in 2024.
